In my last post Body Wellness: Real Breast Cancer Prevention we talked about Thermography as a screening tool for abnormal physiological changes in our breasts. We also discussed that there have been studies which show that these abnormalities can be completely reversed with treatment of anti inflammatory and antioxidant natural supplements. Today we’re going to be talking more about Thermography.
What is Thermography?
Digital Infrared Breast Thermography is a pictorial measurement of heat generated in the body and it allows for a careful analysis of skin and tissue temperatures. Medical practitioners are therefore able to pick up abnormal chemical and blood vessel activity in breast tissue because they generate greater heat. Areas of greater heat are therefore, often seen as red flags – possible pre-cancerous sites.
Listen as CBS 2 News reporters, Paul Magers and Laura Diaz report on the “Breakthrough in Cancer Detection”
Why Thermography?
- FDA approved since 1982 and used in Europe for over 20 years
- Thermography is radiation free
- It’s painless – no compression of the breast
- It’s quick
- Ideal diagnostic tool for women with implants or dense breast tissue
- Detects minor variations in normal blood vessel activity
- Thermography may give women a chance to fight this “dis” ease by adopting healthy lifestyles
But let’s be perfectly clear here. Am I saying no to Mammograms? ABSOLUTELY NOT! Caring for our breasts is serious business. I want to let women know that there are other technologies that are available to help us to care for our beautiful breasts. Thermography may be that tool. The best answer may well be to combination of both technologies together with monthly self breast examinations and healthy lifestyles.
