BBC Health News Update: Cancer survival figures ‘double’ since 1970s

The latest cancer news from BBC Health News is that survival rates for some types of cancer have doubled over the last 40 years.  And this is great news.  “People with breast, bowel and ovarian cancers as well as non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma are now twice as likely to survive for at least 10 years than they were in the 1970s.”

Unfortunately the news is not as good for some other types of cancer, notably lung and pancreatic cancer.

  1. It is good to see that we have helped so many people with cancer problems, I am betting we will have a cure within the next 8 years!
